Hello everybody! As you comment on these days was something bundled and the reason is very simple, I was go to Álava (Basque Country - Spain) to visit the Medieval Market Artziniega!

The old market is one of the biggest events at the national level and is being held this year from the last Sunday of June.

This villa back 500 years and reveals the way of living of the people of the Middle Ages.

Artziniega neighbors decorate their streets, their homes and churches, dress up like medieval people there and I meet a lot of variety of characters of the period:

their horses decorated with knights, maidens, falconers, tirititeros, craftsmen, lepers, jugglers, nobles, pilgrims, beggars, merchants, minstrels, clowns, gypsies, drummers, magicians, jugglers, acrobats, blacksmiths, bakers ....

There were performances of all kinds, but I will go and counting on other blog entries with the corresponding photos.

Well Sunday was a sensational days, plenty of sunshine but it was great.
We spent the whole day without stopping to see one thing after another: they had made cake donuts and crafts, jams made from herbs, goat cheese and sheep Latxa (with name of Basque origin), from meat products ( sausages, bacon, marinade, black pudding ...), sweets and candies, in gold, wool, honey ... so many things!

The truth is that I have so much to tell! I love to see the exhibition of headdresses of the maids of the time (I will make an entry by placing pictures, details, explanations ...), I also love watching traditional looms, weaving women with different techniques (bobbins, cross stitch, carding wool ...), and how the forging of iron tools by clicking the iron heated in ovens with temperatures soaring to enormous bellows!

I leave with you a few pics for you to do the idea that it was largely fair and within days you explain in more detail the most important thing that you do not miss anything about this unique Medieval Market!
